These are items I have been decorating my shop and garden with for the last 20 years. It seems like it is time to unload some amazing pieces and actually price these treasured finds to sell. DESCRIPTION: Be warned once you place this statue at your front door, those unwanted soliciting visitors may not return. Although gargoyles are hideous in appearance, they are actually guardians and ward off evil spirits or so the story goes. There are many gargoyles available on ebay but I have not seen this one. This gargoyle is made of solid, durable cement stone and is a antique creamy whitish color. It is not chintzy resin or chippy plaster so it is entirely safe outdoors, which is where you want your gargoyle. Although, conversation pieces like this are very nice to display on bookshelves, within grotto’s and on the mantle. What is particularly special about this demonic guardian is he has a candle port at the base of his neck which will hold a typical tapered candle. It is also discreet enough to use without a candle. This particular cat-like gargoyle version measures 6″ tall and is 4″ wide and weighs like 3 lbs., give or take. As you can see this casting has small pocks and general erosion from the original sculpture, but unlike that antique which was clearly deteriorating, this casting is solid and secure and fully intact. I do have a pair of these and am happy to offer to the winning bidder and offer a shipping discount. Maybe mount some sconces at the side of your front door and light up a pair of candles, sounds like a sure fire way to keep those pesky solicitors at bay.
